These pictures are of two different kinds of competition.   On the left is a "heeling pattern" at an Obedience Trial in Regina Sask., with my first C.D dog:   Ch Sweet Dignity for Vindicator C.D., "Jesse".   My foundation female.
The second picture in that set are two of Jesse's grandsons receiving "qualifying scores" at an Obedience Trial in Peterborough, Ontario. The bottom picture is of "Wolf" learning his "delivery" for the next level up in Obedience, Open work.

Above we have a Conformation Show Win, this being a "Best Puppy in Breed" with my seventh generation female "Blizzard".   Token' LaPomone Blizzard, at Montreal in November of '01.   The dogs do not "heel" beside you, and "sit" when you stop like they do in obedience.   The dog moves out, preferably a bit ahead of you, at their own speed of a trot, to show off their gait.   The handler moves in beside the dog and keeps her going straight.   She halts into a "stand" position to show off her stance and allow the judge to examine her physically and assess her "expression".

Conformation is a process of elimination, where the dogs are graded "first, second, third, etc" in the "classes" (for the dogs not yet champions are called "class dogs") .... to the best Winner's Female and Winner's Male.   Then the "Specials Only" come into the ring and "Best of Breed" is selected.   Only one from each Breed goes up to the Group Competition, where again, "first, second, etc" is selected, and one from each Group competes for the final award of Best in Show.

Champions count their points differently to class dogs, and a new set of points begins each calendar year to determine the Top Dogs in each Breed in the Country.
Above:   Multiple Group and Specialty Winner A/C Ch Token's Puttin' On the Ritz.,TT,HC,ROM.   "Gramma" to "Blizzard" above.   This is a Group First win .... putting her into the Best in Show this day.   She is also a Group First Winner, U.S., on her way to her U.S. Championship, which she finished very quickly over some of the Top Kennels down there.

Right>>>:   Multiple Specialty Winner BIS/BISS Ch. Token the Magician CD, this is an example of "moving beside your dog with him/her at a trot".   This particular day, "Ragtime" won the Breed at this DC&SSA.   His litter sister "Star" is "Gramma" to "the Ritz".

CONTINUING THE TRADITION OF QUALITY, TYPE, HEALTH AND WORKING ABILITY >>> ALWAYS!!!

Come train with us, give your Best Friend a chance to enjoy either some of this sort of exciting days with you .... or just plain have a better language to communicate and the chance to go out with other doggy friends for school.   It will be a pleasure to work with you both!!
